Dumbwaiter
The dumbwaiter is a versatile modular product predominantly designed for the transfer of light goods between multiple floors.
Dumbwaiters are most commonly recognised in the Catering Industry typically where the kitchen is located on a different level to that of the main restaurant and food needs to be transferred both efficiently and safely between levels whilst the dirty dishes are returned in an adjacent lift.
These lifts are simple to install, as a direct result of the modular design and best suited for multi floor applications whilst taking up minimal space. They are available in various weight carrying capacities of 50kg, 100kg, 200kg and 250Kg.
Dumbwaiter lifts can easily be installed in both new and existing buildings as no pit is required and the headroom requirement is generally less than a standard ceiling level. The modular structure can be quickly erected and only needs minimal fixings at each floor level to provide stability for the shaft. Generally simple plasterboard cladding completes the structure and also provides a level of fire resistance should it be required.
For the bespoke application custom sized lifts can also be manufactured to your specific requirements. It’s also possible to choose your lift in a wide range of finishes with stainless steel being a popular easily maintained option.
